What is MaconThonâ„
MaconThonâ„ is a local initiative powered by Macon Black Tech and community partners to support, nurture, and create a community for creatives, entrepreneurs, and technologists who wants to create social change through technology in the Middle Georgia area.
= HACKATHON + ACCELERATOR + MACON + SOCIAL IMPACT
Hackathons are typically a day or a weekend where individuals and groups solve a challenge. Accelerators are programs that last three months to a year, offer mentorship andclasses, and end in a demo or pitch day.

MaconThonâ„ is a Hackathon infused Accelerator where we offer resources and classes to take projects from ideas to a social impact solution in a three month timespan and end in a community Demo Day. Cohort groups who do not already have an idea are assigned social challenges in the Middle Georgia area related to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Our secret sauce is curating collaboration for local problem solving while providing resources and mentorship for participants. We aim to create a more robust infrastructure for local founders of color interested in developing tech-enabled community solutions by running this program.
